Therapy for Musicians
A musical life is most certainly desirable & exciting, but it is a dangerous career choice.
In 1988, the International Conference of Symphony & Opera Musicians surveyed orchestral musicians and found that 76% of the 2,212 respondents had a significant medical problem that affected their ability to play. A life in music performance is stressful, and constant levels of stress cause the body & mind to develop unhealthy patterns.
A natural teacher, one integral aspect of Jason's work with musicians is to help each musician perform a mental & physical self-analysis of his/her practice and performance. Adams primarily works with musicians who have sustained performance-related injuries, and assists musicians by facilitating the necessary change for healing to begin. Adams believes that the greatest change can be made by simply identifying the underlying cause of any pain or discomfort. Jason then guides the musician back towards optimal health by incorporating massage therapy techniques and yoga exercises.
